Amy Blanc Lacy, a veteran script supervisor on The Walking Dead, Halt and Catch Fire, Loki and other shows, died of injuries suffered in a hit-and-run crash early this month. She was 62.

Lacy died on September 5, four days after the Toyota Prius she was riding in was struck by another vehicle in Atlanta. Local police said the other driver, Buck Rollins, 31, was going more than 90 mph in a 45 mph zone and abandoned his Hyundai Elantra at the scene. He later turned himself in to Fulton County Jail and is charged with first-degree homicide by vehicle, hit and run, reckless driving and speeding.

In their preliminary report, Atlanta police said officers responded to Northside Parkway and Mount Paran Road at about 5:23 p.m. on Labor Day, September 1, and found Lacy critically injured. She was transported to a local hospital, where she died four days later.

Police said the Prius was traveling southbound through an intersection when the driver of the Elantra lost control and collided with the Prius. Also hurt were the male driver of the Prius, 23, and another male passenger, 25; neither man’s name was released, and their condition was not reported. But a Facebook post by Lacy’s niece identified the men as Lacy’s sons Adrian and Oliver. The post also said Lacy “sustained serious injuries to her brain and spinal cord. She went into a coma and was placed on a ventilator. After much consideration and consultation with medical professionals, the heart wrenching decision to remove life sustaining support was made by her children and loved ones, in accordance to Amy’s wishes.”

Lacy served as script supervisor for more than 135 episodes of AMC’s The Walking Dead from 2011-20. She began her career in the early 1990s, working on TV series and miniseries including In the Heat of the Night, From the Earth to the Moon and SeaQuest 2032 and such features as Something to Talk About, Rosewood and The Neon Bible.

After the turn of the century, Lacy was script supervisor for movies including For Colored Girls, Stomp the Yard 2: Homecoming and Hall Pass. By 2013, she working mostly on TV series such as Halt and Catch Fire, MacGyver, Loki and Kingdom Business, along with her years on The Walking Dead. Her final credit was the 2024 feature The Great Lillian Hall.
