EXCLUSIVE: Lexi Minetree has signed with CAA.
Minetree is playing Elle Woods in Prime Video’s Legally Blonde prequel series, which premieres next year. The series follows Elle in high school as viewers learn about the life experiences that shaped her into the iconic young woman fans came to know and love in the first Legally Blonde film.
Laura Kittrell (High School, Insecure) is co-showrunner and executive producer alongside Caroline Dries. Reese Witherspoon is executive producing through her company Hello Sunshine. Other EPs are Lauren Neustadter, Lauren Kisilevsky, and Marc Platt.
Minetree’s casting was announced by Witherspoon on social media.
“Allow me to introduce you to the new Elle Woods!” Witherspoon wrote. “After watching so many incredible auditions for the new Elle prequel series on @PrimeVideo, we finally found our Elle. And today, I got to break the news myself! Meet @leximinetree.”
Minetree’s other credits include Law & Order: SVU, The Murdaugh Murders, Crowdsource Murder, and The Paramedic Who Stalked Me.
She continues to be represented by Framework Entertainment and Kimberly Jaime at Jackoway Austen Tyerman Wertheimer Mandelbaum Morris Bernstein Trattner & Klein.
