HBO Max has acquired One Day in October, the scripted series that is based on real-life accounts from the October 7, 2023, attack on Israel.
The streamer has acquired the U.S. rights to the event series from Fox Entertainment Global. It will launch the series on October 7.
Deadline broke the news of the four-part series last year. It is produced by Fox Entertainment Studios, Israel’s Yes TV and Moriah Media.
Created by Oded Davidoff and Daniel Finkelman, the drama series, which is filmed on location in Israel, centers on four narratives of love, courage, survival and loss. From parental sacrifice and moments turning to torment to beacons of hope amid chaos, each story reveals profound truths about the “senseless carnage of this assault,” according to the producers.
On October 7 2023, Hamas militants stormed into Israel attacking, amongst other places, a number of kibbutzes and the Nova Music Festival, killing around 1,200 people and taking more than 200 hostage
Cast includes Swell Ariel Or, Noa Kedar, Naomi Levov, Hisham Suliman, Wael Hamdoun, Yuval Semo, Avi Azulay, Naveh Tzur and Yael Abecassis.
Davidoff directs with production led by Finkelman, Chaya Amor, Aviv Ben-Shlush, Lee Ben-Shlush Kuperman and Fernando Szew. Jim Berk and Sheldon Rabinowitz with Moriah Media are also executive producers on the series.
