The Property Masters Guild presented its second annual MacGuffin Awards last night in a ceremony at Paramount Theater in Hollywood, which saw wins for such projects as Dune: Part Two, Severance and The Studio.

“The MacGuffin Awards recognize the talent, precision and problem-solving that Property Masters contribute to productions,” co-chairs Theresa Corvino, Brad Elliott and Lauren Shell said in a statement. “Their work is essential to creating worlds audiences believe in and remember.”

PMG President Jeffrey Johnson drew applause from the audience during a speech highlighting the guild’s mission of elevating those in their craft, especially amid the awards ceremony’s growth in its second year.

Honoring both film and television contributions, other awardees included Heretic and A Complete Unknown, as well as Shōgun, Fallout, Ripley, The Rehearsal and Taylor Swift/Post Malone’s music video for the track “Fortnight.”

The inaugural President’s Award, which recognizes exceptional contributions by professionals outside the prop master role, was presented to Alfonso Ramirez, whose credits include Rent: Live, 68 Whiskey, The Offer, Horizon: Chapter 2 and Lanterns.

Meanwhile, the Lifetime Achievement Award, sponsored by Studio Art & Technology, was presented to Dennis J. Parrish by writer-director Jonathan Mostow and Vice President of Studio Art & Technology Lewis Doty. Parrish’s career began at Warner Bros. on The Silver Chalice and spanned five decades, with credits including Hello, Dolly!, Papillon, Red Dawn, Total Recall, Casino, U-571 and Gangs of New York.

The Humanitarian Award, sponsored by Hill Valley, was presented to Chuck McSorley by PMG board member Kurt Bruun, and founder and CEO of Hill Valley, Eric Nebot. His professional credits include Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood, Batman Forever, Freaks and Geeks, Space Jam: A New Legacy and Captain America: A Brave New World.

The audience included guild members, filmmakers and industry executives who gathered to celebrate the artistry and craft of prop masters over the past year in film and television, with additional presenters including PMG Board Director Olivia Dom; writers Natalia Leite, Chris Weitz and Matthew Weiner; artisans Scott Bauer, Rosemary Brandenburg, Rick Carter, Nancy Haigh and Amelia Vincent; producers Leopold Hughes and Ben LeClair; and actors Matthew Lamb, Virginia Madsen, Dileep Rao, Dax Shepard and Alkaio Thiele.
