Police are searching for a driver accused of intentionally striking and killing a man in Chatsworth.
On Sept. 3, Los Angeles police responded to reports of a body found near the commercial area of Lassen Street and Canoga Avenue around 5:30 a.m.
Officers found a man lying on the driveway with multiple traumatic injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
After collecting evidence and reviewing surveillance video, detectives believe the victim had been intentionally struck by the suspect driver who fled the area.
“While the victim’s injuries were consistent with being hit by a vehicle, detectives noted he may have sustained additional injuries of undetermined cause,” investigators said.
The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The suspect or suspects involved remain at large. The motive behind the man’s death remains unclear.
“Detectives are canvassing the area for witnesses, evidence, and additional surveillance footage,” LAPD said.
Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call LAPD’s Valley Bureau Homicide at 818-374-9550. During non-business hours or on weekends, the public can call 1-877-527-3247.
