The 77th annual Primetime Emmy Awards are just around the corner, and it’s shaping up to be a groundbreaking year. From records possibly being broken by The Studio and Severance to Kathy Bates potentially becoming the oldest recipient of an acting trophy in a drama category for Matlock, this year has a lot of exciting moments to look forward to. But who will win? Let’s make some predictions, shall we?

The 77th annual Primetime Emmy Awards air on CBS and Paramount+ on Sunday, September 14. Subscribe to our For the Culture newsletter for all the Emmy news delivered straight to your inbox.

Outstanding Comedy Series
Nothing can stop Apple TV+’s The Studio from winning the top prize. It’s already the most nominated comedy series in a single year in Emmy history, but it’s also close to becoming the most awarded comedy series in a single year. And if there’s one thing these award shows love to do it’s to give trophies to shows about Hollywood.

Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series
The Studio wouldn’t be The Studio without Seth Rogen’s performance. He’s going to win.

Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series
Jean Smart has picked up a trophy for every season of HBO‘s Hacks, and she’s going to do it again for the fourth season of Hacks.

Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series
This one is a battle between Ike Barinholtz for The Studio and Harrison Ford for Shrinking, both Apple TV+ shows. (It’s going to be a great night for Apple TV+.) While Ford is a Hollywood icon, I feel like this one is going to Barinholtz.

Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series
If The Studio love fully dominates the night, then Catherine O’Hara might take home this prize. But my gut says it’s going to be Hacks‘ Hannah Einbinder. She’s been nominated every year and has never won, and she had a standout performance this season on Hacks. I can easily see her winning this one.

Outstanding Drama Series
Severance has the edge in this category. It’s insanely popular and is part of Apple TV+’s impressive package of shows this year. But, with that said, I wouldn’t count out HBO’s The Pitt. The medical drama has been picking up a lot of steam in recent weeks. My gut says this is going to Severance though.

Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series
This is another battle between Severance and The Pitt, however, in this case, most people are betting on Noah Wyle to take home the prize for The Pitt. That’s also my prediction, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Severance‘s Adam Scott’s name was announced Sunday night.

Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series
Kathy Bates is already the oldest person nominated in a drama category for her performance in Matlock, and she’s about to be the oldest winner. It would be a shock if Bates didn’t win, but if she doesn’t, the trophy is going to Severance‘s Britt Lower.

Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series
If you were a fan of HBO’s The White Lotus, then look to the supporting categories in a drama series to be the spots to see your faves. This award is either going to Severance‘s Tramell Tillman (the likely winner) or Walter Goggins for The White Lotus.

Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series
If Carrie Coon doesn’t win for The White Lotus, I’m going to be VERY mad. She deserves for that monologue in the last episode alone. She’s also the likely winner. If she doesn’t win, it’s going to Katherine LaNasa for The Pitt.

Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series
While Apple TV+ will dominate the drama and comedy categories for Severance and The Studio respectively, Netflix will dominate the Limited or Anthology Series categories for Adolescence. All bets are on Adolescence to win big.

Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie
This one is a battle between Colin Farrell for HBO’s The Penguin and Stephen Graham for Adolescence. I think it’s going to Farrell, primarily for acting in that fat suit.

Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie
This is the one category where Adolescence doesn’t have a nomination, which means Cristin Milioti is going to win for The Penguin.

Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie
If Erin Doherty doesn’t win for Adolescence, then Jenny Slate is going to win for Dying for Sex.

Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie
There is no way Owen Cooper is going to lose the Emmy for Adolescence. At just 15-years-old, Cooper is set to become the youngest winner of an acting Emmy.

Outstanding Reality Competition Program
While everyone wants RuPaul’s Drag Race to win, Peacock‘s The Traitors is going to win.

Outstanding Talk Series
Paramount announcing they were canceling the Late Show with Stephen Colbert all but guaranteed the chat series a win in this category.
