A Montebello man is facing a possible sentence of years in state prison for allegedly selling goods stolen off a train this summer.
Dojoon Park, 42, faces six felony counts of receipt of stolen property worth over $950 and allegations of victims’ losses over $500,000, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said in a news release.
According to prosecutors, a train car full of goods in Long Beach was discovered to have been burglarized in July 2025, and losses amounted to more than $5 million in tools, household appliances, e-bikes and other merchandise.
Some of that merchandise was found being sold at Park’s DJ General Tool and Wire stores in Montebello and Huntington Park, prosecutors said.
“Cargo theft is not a victimless crime. The stolen merchandise enters our commerce and affects real businesses and real employees,” said District Attorney Nathan Hochman. “Thefts from our ports also erode the reputation of our world class port in Los Angeles.”
Park has pleaded not guilty and is being held in lieu of $225,000 bail. Jail records list his current location as the Inmate Reception Center.
If convicted on all counts, Park faces up to 11 years in state prison.
