PHOENIX – A suspect is in custody after a pregnant woman was run over during a domestic dispute in northern Arizona over the weekend, authorities said.
Sunday’s incident in Rimrock, about 25 miles south of Sedona, left the victim with serious injuries, according to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO).
The pregnant woman was found lying on the ground near Beaver Creek Road and Top O the Morning Drive around 3 p.m.
She was airlifted to a Phoenix-area hospital and is expected to survive, as is her unborn child, YCSO said.
Witnesses told deputies a pearly white SUV was seen leaving the area.

Investigators identified 30-year-old Jesus Junior Ruiz Hernandez as the suspect. He is accused of driving over the victim and fleeing the scene after she fell out of his car during an argument, YCSO said.
He was arrested on Sunday night and booked into jail on suspicion of hit-and-run, endangerment and disorderly conduct. His white vehicle was also located.
