Food and fun are on tap as Big Bear celebrates its 55th year of Oktoberfest.
The two-month-long Big Bear Lake Oktoberfest kicked off on Saturday, with many taking the opportunity to beat the heat by heading into the San Bernardino Mountains for the opening weekend.
“Here, guests can fill up their steins with frosty-cold German beer and enjoy the oompa-pa music amidst the cool mountain breeze,” a Big Bear Guide news release stated.
Big Bear Lake’s Oktoberfest is a great chance for Southern Californians to experience traditional German singing, dancing, food, and drink — plus some local fare — as organizers introduce Beer Tasting Fridays, featuring a wide variety of micro-beers and seltzers from across the West Coast.
The Big Bear Lake Oktoberfest runs for 10 consecutive weekends through Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025.
Event Times:
- Saturdays: 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. in September & 1 p.m. to midnight in October
- Sundays: 12 noon to 6 p.m.
- Fridays: 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. (October only)
The weekend festivities take place at Big Bear Lake Convention Center, located at 42900 Big Bear Blvd. Information about ticket prices and other details can be found by visiting BigBearEvents.com or calling 909-585-3000.
