Albino & Preto (A&P) has announced a new collection inspired by Jean-Michel Basquiat, paying tribute to Basquiat’s raw energy and lasting legacy.
The collaboration features some of the artist’s rarely seen works and creates a natural connection between Basquiat’s art and martial arts, particularly jiu-jitsu. This meeting point is central to the collection, which includes gi and nogi sets, as well as off-the-mat lifestyle pieces.
Each piece is crafted in limited quantities using high-grade materials, reflecting the discipline of jiu-jitsu and the boundary-breaking spirit of Basquiat. The collection incorporates martial arts motifs often hidden within the artist’s work. A subtle nod is made to “Achilles,” a term once used for a jiu-jitsu footlock, in the artwork.
Check out the release above. The A&P x Basquiat collection drops September 10 via the official Albino & Preto website.
