Many fans and analysts agree that Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is one of the greatest quarterbacks in professional football history.

However, that reputation and distinction arrived from his multiple seasons as a star with the Green Bay Packers.

This marks Rodgers’ 21st season in the NFL. He spent 18 seasons with Green Bay, and the past two with the New York Jets.

His time with the Packers included leading them to a Super Bowl victory and capturing several NFL MVP Awards, among other accolades and statistical achievements.

He’s now going to give it a go for another season, after previously failing to lead the Jets to postseason glory. He’ll be the signal caller for an established organization that prides itself on winning football under head coach Mike Tomlin.

However, Rodgers, 41, received some cautionary remarks from former NFL star Rob Gronkowski before his debut with the Steelers.

During Fox NFL Sunday, Michael Strahan and Gronkowski shared their thoughts about Rodgers heading into his latest season.

Gronk mentioned how he previously played with superstar Tom Brady into his 40s, and Brady “didn’t need to prove he needed the credit or accolades.”

“He just had to prove that he could play at a high level going into his 40s, and he sure did,” Gronk said.

Rodgers is approaching the same number of seasons as Brady played. The legendary QB played 23 seasons before calling it a career. Now Brady is calling games.

“Can Aaron Rodgers win going into his 40s?” Gronk said, adding, “Now he’s with the Pittsburgh Steelers, a winning organization.”

Gronkowski mentioned that Rodgers has a great head coach with Mike Tomlin and talented wide receivers, including DK Metcalf, who give him the tools to succeed with the Steelers.

“If he’s one of the reasons the Pittsburgh Steelers don’t make the playoffs this year, that will tarnish his legacy a little bit,” Gronk warned.

On the flipside, Strahan said he believed Rodgers could “make a difference” and “there was a little bit of magic left in the tank” for him. He also mentioned that the retired legend Brady called Rodgers “the greatest passer he’s ever seen.”

Strahan mentioned Pittsburgh has yet to have a losing season with Mike Tomlin as their coach. However, they haven’t been successful in the postseason in a while.

Rodgers seemingly has a lot on his shoulders, as Steelers fans won’t be happy with a losing season or missing the playoffs.
