The Kansas City Chiefs suffered a tough loss on Friday night, as the team lost star wide receiver Xavier Worthy to a shoulder injury at the beginning of their game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Worthy was tied up with a Chargers defender and Travis Kelce when he was spun to the ground, ultimately landing on his shoulder. He had to be helped off the field by trainers, and the scene looked grim.
Moments after the incident, Worthy was seen with a towel on his head and walking to the locker room. At first, he was designated as questionable to return with the injury, and then ruled out.
Now, it appears that Worthy has a reported injury confirmation that will sideline him for some time.

According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Worthy suffered a dislocated shoulder.
“My understanding is Xavier Worthy … suffered a dislocated shoulder. It is unclear as of now how much he is gonna miss; they are still soliciting a second opinion. I am told the most likely option is for him to be able to brace it up and return this season. However, tests pending, and surgery is still as of right now an option.”

The good news is that Rapoport indicated that Worthy might still be able to return this season if the injury warrants the use of a brace. The bad news is that if the young receiver has to undergo surgery to correct the dislocation, he could miss significant time and possibly the whole season.
Kansas City has yet to confirm the details of the injury, but tests are still ongoing. Second opinions always matter a great deal, and the Chiefs are likely combing through every option before they potentially make the tough call that Worthy will miss the rest of the season.
