Arizona opened the season with a dominant 40–6 win over Hawai’i, powered by a strong ground attack and a stingy defense. Quincy Craig needed just seven carries to rack up 125 yards and a touchdown, while Kendrick Reescano and Ismail Mahdi also found the end zone on the ground. Defensively, Gavin Hunter, Taye Brown, and Malachi Bailey each came away with interceptions to cap a complete performance.
Weber State, meanwhile, is coming off a 45–10 loss to James Madison in which the Wildcats surrendered 313 rushing yards.
Given Arizona’s success running the ball and forcing turnovers, that trend should continue in Week 2. In this Wildcats-versus-Wildcats matchup, Arizona looks well-positioned to add another win to its record.
