This is the SEC opener for both of these teams. Each comes in with a 1-0 record, with Ole Miss ranked No. 20 in the nation and Kentucky currently unranked.
Ole Miss opened its season with a 63-7 win over Georgia State. Austin Simmons was 20-for-31 for 341 yards and three touchdowns, but the Rebels have to be a little concerned about his two interceptions, considering the player he replaced, Jaxson Dart, threw just six picks all of last season.
Kentucky opened its season with a 24-16 win over Toledo, a team many expect to be one of the top Group of Five teams in 2025. Quarterback Zach Calzada struggled, going 10-for-23 for 85 yards with an interception, but he did manage to rush for a score. Dante Dowdell was the hero for the Wildcats, carrying the ball 14 times for 129 yards and a score.
