AJ Styles’ latest social media post has fans fearing the worst. The former WWE Champion has been in the pro wrestling business for over 25 years, and a new, cryptic post has fans worried that his retirement might be sooner than they thought.
AJ Styles posted an image of an hourglass on social media, with the sand inside the hourglass featuring his “P1” logo. Styles didn’t provide any other context about the post, but it clearly affected fans who saw it.
“Don’t You Dare Leave Us”
The post even got a response from the recently departed Killer Kross, who wrote, “Uncle Allen I will turn that hourglass upside down… don’t you dare leave us.”
In the past, AJ Styles has been open about when he planned to end his in-ring career. Earlier this year, Styles told Chris Van Vliet on his “Insight” podcast that he still plans on retiring by the time he is 50 years old.

“That’s correct. I keep saying that. I’ve said this and said this, but I will not wrestle at 50, I promise you that,” Styles said.
AJ Styles is currently 48 years old, and he will turn 50 in June 2027. In July, Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that Styles signed a one-year extension with WWE. At WrestleMania 41, he told fans at a live signing that he was also working on opening his own pro wrestling school in Georgia. Styles said he was hopeful it would happen in the next year.
At SummerSlam, Styles also teased fans that it might be his last match at the event. He took a loss to Dominik Mysterio at that show, but the feud is still expected to continue on WWE TV.
