The Kansas City Chiefs are kicking off the 2025 NFL season in Brazil, as part of the NFL’s international series. It is an important matchup with their divisional rival Los Angeles Chargers.

Kansas City is looking to start the season off strong and shake off the lopsided Super Bowl loss that occurred in February.

With the Chiefs still considered to be the team to beat in the AFC, they can prove that fact by getting a dominant win against the Chargers. The issue is that the team will be without several players.

According to the Chiefs’ official social media, here are the inactive players for Friday’s Week 1 matchup.

The release states that the following players will be inactive:

WR Jalen Royals

TE Jared Wiley

RB Elijah Mitchell

DT Omarr Norman-Lott

OL Hunter Norzad

DE Malik Herring

Kansas City needs all hands on deck to deal with the strong run game that the Chargers possess, along with the fact that Justin Herbert can gun the ball downfield.

Losing Royals for the game is tough, as the rookie could have been impactful on the field, and Kansas City needs all the pass-catching help they can get.

The 2024 season saw the Chiefs lose Isiah Pacheco, Hollywood Brown, and Juju Smith-Schuster to significant injuries. Now, it appears that most of the offensive starters are ready to go for Week 1.

What Time Does the Chiefs-Chargers Game Start?

The Chiefs and Chargers are facing off at 5 pm/8 pm EST.

How to Watch Chiefs-Chargers in Brazil?

The Chiefs and Chargers showdown will be streamed exclusively on YouTube.

Chiefs vs Chargers Prediction

This is a divisional matchup that can go either way, but expect the Chiefs to come out and score early and often. Los Angeles does have a formidable defense, but they may need a week or two to put things together.

Expect the Chiefs to come away with a win here by simply being able to outpace the Chargers with their high-flying offense.

Chiefs 28 – Chargers 24.
