Lamar Jackson is considered to be one of the best quarterbacks in the league right now, and the Baltimore Ravens’ dual-threat star has already been awarded two league MVP awards for that reason.

In 2024, Jackson was up for his third MVP, but he lost out on it to Buffalo Bills quarterback and rival, Josh Allen.
To be fair, Jackson probably should have won the award, but there is no sense in splitting hairs on what has already happened.
Jackson secured 41 touchdowns, 4,172 yards, and only four interceptions through the air. He also had 915 yards and four touchdowns on the ground.

Simply put, Jackson is a superstar, and one that might win league MVP many more times throughout his career. The expectation for Jackson is that he will be in the thick of the MVP race in 2025, which has already been predicted by many analysts.
Despite being in the MVP race for the 2025 season, Jackson has also been predicted to lose out on the award to another AFC rival.
The Athletic got together to predict major end-of-season awards, and their votes currently have Jackson in second place. The winner of the coveted league MVP is none other than Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow.
“The AFC’s three leading men — Mahomes, Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen — have combined to win five of the last seven MVP awards, although only Mahomes has appeared in a Super Bowl,” the report states. “The only active AFC quarterback to beat Mahomes in the playoffs? That would be Joe Burrow, who narrowly won this category, finishing just ahead of Jackson, a two-time MVP and the 2024 runner-up. Second-year Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels was the only player outside the AFC’s leading QB quartet to finish with multiple votes.
Burrow received 17 percent of the votes, narrowly beating out Jackson, who received 16 percent.
Jackson, Burrow, Allen, and Patrick Mahomes are considered to be the big four in the NFL right now in terms of quarterbacks. Though all four might be battling it out for the MVP at the end of 2025, it appears that Burrow might win.
It’s not hard to imagine why, as Burrow is the main person who has kept the Bengals afloat the past two seasons. However, if Jackson puts together another campaign of 40+ touchdowns and over 4,000 yards, it will be hard to deny him again.
