It’s an abrupt end of an era.
NeueHouse announced it will be shutting all of its clubs on Sept. 5.
The members-only community has locations in Hollywood, Venice Beach and New York’s Madison Square neighborhood.
“For over a decade, NeueHouse has served as a center of creativity, community, design and innovation where trailblazers have convened to push boundaries and discover new ideas. Our mission has always been to provide a space for creators, innovators and thought leaders to gather and connect. Thanks to you, that mission became a reality,” the NeueHouse Board wrote onto its website.
While the brand “created an extremely valuable business that is prized by members and event hosts, unfortunately, it has been burdened by legacy liabilities.”
The NeueHouse Board said it explored “every possible solution” to avoid closing but ultimately made the “difficult decision” to shutter its doors.
“While this is certainly not the outcome we envisioned for our business, we believe it is the most responsible path for all our stakeholders, though we deeply regret the impact this decision will have on our valued employees, members and customers,” the statement continued.
All of three of its clubs will remain open until 2 p.m. PST on Sept. 5, so guests can collect their belongings.
“Thank you for being part of the NeueHouse community. While this chapter is coming to an end, we are proud of what we have built together and the community of creativity that will continue to live on through each of you.”
