Name: BEAMS Sneaker Loafer
Colorway: BLACK
SKU: 11-32-0842-986
MSRP: ¥27,500 (Approximately $180 USD)
Release Date: November 2025
Where to Buy: BEAMS

As the dust settles from a year packed with sneaker-loafer hybrid releases, BEAMS is finally getting in on the movement with a distilled interpretation of the popular fusion style.

The Japanese brand has unveiled official images of the BEAMS Sneaker Loafer, characterized by a classic black leather loafer upper and a chunky Vibram sole. Despite the stylistic contrast between the elegant upper and the more casual midsole, the matte all-black color treatment creates a more subtle effect. Instead of going for any visible branding, BEAMS printed its wordmark on the insoles, keeping the body sleek and discreet.

It was the arrival of the New Balance 1906L in 2024 that took the fusion trend to new heights, incorporating the silhouette of a classic loafer with the makeup and technical overlays of the 1906 runner. From there, competitors, including HOKA, Converse, Vans, and Nike put their own spin on the sneaker-loafer in various styles. However, as 2025 has progressed, it seems that the sneaker-loafer is growing less expressive and settling into a more subdued variation. Like BEAMS’ pared-back Sneaker Loafer, KEEN‘s recently unveiled UNEEK Loafer leans much more classic than subversive.

What’s rather impressive is that BEAMS chose to keep this release in-line with no collaborator, further signaling the brand’s intent to better establish its independent identity overseas. The Tokyo-based company typically has a rolling roster of collaborations all year round, especially in footwear. This past summer, BEAMS’ B:MING label collaborated with New Balance on a 574 and with Clarks on a Wallabee boot, and the main line partnered with PUMA on the “KING INDOOR” sneaker, among other brands.

Available now on the BEAMS site for pre-order, pairs are expected to start shipping by November 2025.
