EXCLUSIVE: It’s been 10 years since Amelia Dimoldenberg launched her now wildly successful YouTube series Chicken Shop Date and to commemorate, the British content creator is launching her first ever live event in London.
Dimoldenberg’s creative studio, Dimz Inc. is set to debut ‘Chicken Shop Date: 10 Years Of An Idea Served By You Tube’ at Protein Studios in Shoreditch on September 26 and 27, 2025. The two-day event is backed by YouTube, which is also celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, and will showcase behind-the-scenes moments from Chicken Shop Date, live panel discussions with various digital creators (most of which Dimoldenberg will take part in) and interactive workshops.
Speaking exclusively to Deadline, Dimoldenberg said she is launching the event partly to celebrate a decade of her brand but also, largely, to underscore her banner Dimz Inc.’s commitment to nurturing young and fresh talent in the content creation space.
“When I started, the algorithms were not the same as they are now,” Dimoldenberg told Deadline. “TikTok didn’t exist, and all these different platforms didn’t exist in the same way, and I think this is an amazing way to celebrate that kind of journey of the show. But, more broadly, I also want to be able to celebrate the next generation of creatives and creators.”
She continued: “I want to use this as a way to inspire and galvanize young people or anyone with an idea of their own, who wants to make something for themselves and maybe doesn’t know how or where to begin. I very much have the manifesto that you shouldn’t wait and you should just make it yourself, because that is really what I have done. You can’t wait around for someone to give you the permission to do something.”
Dimoldenberg hit the content creation scene in 2014 with her pop culture show Chicken Shop Date, which sees her asks guests a series of questions in a flirty, and often awkward way, while on a date in a fried chicken restaurant. While the brand initially started off as a column in a youth-run magazine, Dimoldenberg parlayed the idea into a digital series which is now increasingly being used by film marketing teams as part of the press cycle for film promotion.
In recent years, the show has attracted top tier actors such as Andrew Garfield, Cynthia Erivo and Idris Elba as well as Paul Mescal and Harris Dickinson, who are set to star as Paul McCartney and John Lennon respectively in Apple’s upcoming The Beatles film.
Dimoldenberg’s YouTube channel has more than 3.2 million subscribers, while her interviews with Garfield and Dickinson amassed 12 million and 2.5 million views respectively. Music stars that have featured on the series include Sabrina Carpenter, Billie Eilish, SZA, Cher and Ed Sheeran.
Dimoldenberg was recently featured in YouTube’s UK Impact report and played a key role in the UK Creator Consultation, a national initiative that gathered feedback from creators on how to shape the future of digital content. In 2018, Dimoldenberg founded creative studio and production company Dimz Inc., which specializes in original formats and branded entertainment. With a particular focus on short-form episodic content, Dimz Inc. covers creative ideation, production and roll-out.
Last month, her banner launched Dimz Inc. Academy, a free-of-charge initiative dedicated to supporting the next generation of creators, in collaboration with charity Spiral Skills. Dimoldenberg said that “it’s incredibly vital for me to do my bit to level the playing field and make sure that the creative industries are accessible to everyone.”
She added: “I’ve found it was such a part of my journey in terms of the support that I was given,” she said. “I think that it is so needed if we want to have a media industry that is representative of the voices that are actually in society, and I think it will make for better entertainment and better culture all around.”
