DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) — The Decatur Police Department announced Thursday that, at the direction of Chief Torry Mack, over 30 people were arrested in a new operation.
On August 4, DPD said it began Operation First Light, a multi-unit effort to locate and arrest individuals with outstanding felony warrants.
Over several weeks, DPD said 10 people were found and taken into custody for their outstanding warrants. Eight individuals were found to be incarcerated elsewhere and will face extradition back to Decatur once those charges are satisfied.
The department said on September 2, members of the DPD’s Vice/Narcotics Unit, Patrol Division, Criminal Investigation Division, and SWAT team made contact with 10 more people with outstanding felony warrants and took them into custody.
At the end of Operation First Light, 32 people were found or voluntarily turned themselves in to law enforcement.
The following arrests were made:
- Elbert Junior Anderson – Robbery 2nd Degree
- Cristin Danielle Butler – Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance
- Shaneah Marie Cole – Domestic Violence 2nd Degree
- April Orr Collier – Willful Abuse of a Child
- Javier Saldana Garcia – Sexual Abuse 2nd Degree
- Jacarious Marque Garth – Two counts of Sodomy 1st Degree and one count Sexual Abuse of a Child Less than 12
- Madison Leondria Gordon – Robbery 2nd Degree
- Patrick Lee Harris – SORNA violation
- Jarvis Tyrese Hayes – Certain Persons Forbidden to Possess a Firearm
- Bryan Crisanto Hernandez – Criminal Mischief 1st Degree and Shooting into an Occupied Vehicle
- Edgar Arguelles Hernandez – Sodomy 2nd Degree
- Peyton Florence Lampkin – Trafficking in Illegal Drugs
- Eddie Dean Lucas – Felony Driving Under the Influence
- Kristan Lashaun Patricio – Trafficking in Illegal Drugs, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Tampering with Physical Evidence
- Misty Nicole Ricks – Identity Theft, Theft of Property 3rd Degree, and Fraudulent Use of a Debit/Credit Card
- Diana Marie Rodgers – Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree
- Jeffrey Franklin Rowden – Trafficking in Illegal Drugs
- Jasmine Marie Rowell – Theft of Property 1st Degree
- Billy Wayne Short – Felony Attempting to Elude a Police Officer, three counts of Lane Change without Proper Signal, three counts of Running a Red Light, Expired Tag, three counts of Improper Lane Usage, Fail to Signal, three counts of Improper Passing, and Reckless Driving
- Lela Nichole Smith – Two counts of Burglary 3rd Degree
- Terry Owen Stokes – Domestic Violence 1st Degree and Assault 3rd Degree
- Jenny Elizabeth Taylor – Chemical Endangerment of a Child, Theft of Property 1st Degree, and five counts of Possession of a Forged Instrument
- Misty Michelle Taylor – Theft of Property 3rd Degree
- Kevin Leonard Veal – Sexual Abuse of a Child (less than 12 years of age).
The department said the following people are currently incarcerated somewhere else and are awaiting extradition:
- Keilly Bryant Bergey – Theft of Property 1st Degree
- Michael William Gargus – Theft of Property 3rd Degree
- Curtis Rosevelt Garth – Obstructing Justice Using False Identity
- Starsky Vashan King – Enticing a Child to Enter Vehicle, House, Etc., for Immoral Purposes
- Alan Delaney Marshall – Burglary 3rd Degree and Chemical Endangerment
- Galon Wesley Parker – Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the 3rd Degree
- Jacob Paul Perry – Two counts of Robbery 1st Degree
- Marcus Trashawn Wallace – Theft of Property 1st Degree
In addition to those already arrested, there are still three people with outstanding warrants that DPD is searching for:
- Zackery Michael Allen Jackson – Trafficking in Illegal Drugs, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Tampering with Physical Evidence
- Zariah Breshun Jones – Two counts of Chemical Endangerment
- Ashley Lashay Miller – Chemical Endangerment
