The start of the 2025–26 NFL season is just a day away, and adding to the anticipation, commissioner Roger Goodell appeared on NBC‘s “Today Show” on Wednesday morning.
Goodell discussed a variety of topics and was even asked whether fans would see Taylor Swift perform during the Halftime Show of Super Bowl LX in February. The commissioner didn’t say no.
“We would always love to have Taylor play. She is a special, special talent, and obviously, she would be welcome at any time,” Goodell said.
NBC’s Savannah Guthrie then asked Goodell if Swift performing at the Super Bowl is “in the works.”
“I can’t tell you anything about that,” Goodell added.
Guthrie kept pressing for the answers “Swifties” around the world are eager to know. She followed up with another question, asking if it was a “maybe.”
“It’s a maybe,” Goodell stated.

Ultimately, the decision is forthcoming, and it is up to rapper and businessman Jay-Z, who is the owner of Roc Nation.
Back in 2019, the NFL partnered with Roc Nation as its “live music entertainment strategist” and ever since, the entertainment company has selected the Halftime Show performer.
Swift has been a major storyline around the NFL over the past two seasons, ever since she began dating Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce in 2023. She’s been in the stands for each of the last two Super Bowls to watch Kelce, and with a third straight trip on the table — plus the couple’s engagement in August — it’s fair to wonder if a performance could be next.
