A former aide of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr. was so distraught over getting canned at the agency last month that she accidentally backed her car into his vehicle, according to a report.
Hannah Anderson, Kennedy’s former deputy chief of staff for policy, was fired from her position on July 16 — just six months into the role, CNN reported.
In a moment of hot-headed distress, Anderson accidentally backed up into Kennedy’s car after learning she lost her job, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing sources familiar with the matter.
Before joining the Trump administration, Anderson worked with the America First Policy Institute, a nonprofit conservative think tank.
The fender bender came amidst growing turmoil and turnover within the HHS.
On July 29, Dr. Vinay Prasad, the FDA Director of the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, was ousted less than three months after taking the position due to criticism from right-wing activists, including Laura Loomer, the Wall Street Journal reported.
He was reinstated just two weeks later after Kennedy lobbied the White House, the outlet said.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Susan Monarez was also fired last Wednesday after refusing to resign from her post, a White House official told The Post.
Monarez’s removal comes after she was reportedly issued an ultimatum by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert. F. Kennedy Jr: quit or be fired.
“As her attorney’s statement makes abundantly clear, Susan Monarez is not aligned with the President’s agenda of Making America Healthy Again,” White House spokesman Kush Desai said in a statement.
A spokesperson for the HHS also did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
