The Baltimore Ravens may have landed one of the biggest steals in the NFL Draft this past April, bagging Marshall edge rusher Mike Green with the 59th overall pick.
Green may very well be the best pass rusher in his draft class, but some off-the-field issues resulted in the 22-year-old sliding on draft day.

Jacob Robinson and Mike Sando of The Athletic ran some predictions for the upcoming NFL campaign, and Green was front and center, with the two writers projecting the youngster to be the league’s best defensive rookie in 2025.
“As for Green, four of the past five winners were edge rushers who racked up sacks,” Robinson and Sando wrote. “That’s Green’s specialty: He looked dominant this preseason after leading Division I at Marshall with 17 sacks.”
Green was widely viewed as a first-round after the 2024 college football season ended, so there is no question that the Ravens got incredible value with the pick.
Plus, Baltimore definitely needed some depth at the edge rusher position behind Kyle Van Noy and Odafe Oweh, so Green should fit right in.
The 6-foot-3, 250-pound defender actually began his collegiate career at Virginia in 2021, but transferred to Marshall after just one season.
Green logged 43 tackles, nine tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks during his debut campaign with the Thundering Herd in 2023 before establishing himself as one of the nation’s best pass rushers the following year.
Along with leading the country in sacks, Green also racked up 84 tackles, 23 tackles for loss and three forced fumbles in 2024.

It will be interesting to see just how much playing time Green gets in his first season, but his versatility should allow him to get on the field quite a bit for Baltimore this fall.
The Ravens will open up their season against the Buffalo Bills this Sunday.
