Modern Family‘s Sarah Hyland and Broadway newcomer Sadie Dickerson will join the hit Bobby Darin musical Just In Time starring Jonathan Groff, with Hyland taking over as Connie Francis and Dickerson as Sandra Dee.
Dickerson is first up to join the show, beginning performances Tuesday, September 16. She takes over for the exiting Erika Henningsen (whose last performance will be Sunday, September 14).
Hyland begins performances Wednesday, October 8, taking over for Gracie Lawrence (last show, Sunday, October 5).
Dickerson will be making her Broadway debut. A graduate of Missouri State University, earning a BFA in Musical Theatre and a Certificate in Acting for the Camera, she has appeared Off Broadway in Vladimir at Manhattan Theatre Club.
Hyland is best known for her starring role as ‘Haley Dunphy’ on the ABC comedy series Modern Family. She made her Broadway debut in 2006’s Grey Gardens, returning in 2024 with the role of Daisy in The Great Gatsby. Also last year she appeared in the Off Broadway revival of Little Shop of Horrors.
Today’s casting announcement was made by Just In Time producers Tom Kirdahy, Robert Ahrens and John Frost.
Developed and directed by Tony Award winner Alex Timbers (Moulin Rouge), Just In Time charts the life and career of crooner Bobby Darin (Groff), whose hits included “Beyond the Sea,” “Splish Splash,” “Dream Lover” and “Mack the Knife.”
