All 32 teams are releasing injury reports for the upcoming slate of games for Week 1 of the 2025 NFL season. Though some players have had injury issues throughout training camp, injury reports released this week will determine their standing to play.

One such player who has suffered a significant injury during training camp is Jacksonville Jaguars dual-threat player, Travis Hunter. Hunter has been dealing with an upper-body injury that he suffered during preseason, which has kept him sidelined for multiple weeks.

Despite the worry that the injury could linger into Week 1, the Jaguars have received a major update on the situation via the team’s first injury report.

Hunter has not emerged on the injury report, which is great news for two seasons. First, this means that the upper-body injury he has suffered could be completely healed.

Second, Hunter not appearing on the initial injury report also could mean he will suit up to make his Jaguars debut against the Carolina Panthers.

Interestingly, the Jaguars have already determined what position they will feature Hunter in more of when Week 1 rolls around.

Much like the injury reports, the depth charts for Week 1 have been released as well. On the Jaguars’ first depth chart, Hunter is listed as a starting wide receiver but a backup cornerback.

It makes sense that the Jaguars will want to use Hunter as a receiver more than being a corner, as that is his perceived strongest position. In 2024, Hunter secured 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns as a receiver.

These numbers are far more impressive than his four interceptions. That is not to say that his coverage abilities are in any way lacking, but the Jaguars might see more value in Hunter catching passes to start.

Hunter being fully healthy means he is likely to play both positions against the Panthers.
