(WHNT) — Week 1 of high school football brought us a ton of great plays, but some stood out.
Here are the top plays from Week 1 of high school football:
No. 5
Muscle Shoals Christian Pritchard takes an interception to the house. The Trojans would pick up their 10th straight win over Florence, thanks in part to this play.
No. 4
Guntersville’s Eli Goggins does his best Miracle in the Meadowlands impression and houses a kick off for a touchdown. Guntersville picked up a win against Fort Payne in this one.
No. 3
Buckhorn is hosting Athens as the Eagles look to punt, the punt is blocked and returned for a touchdown. I’m from southwest Virginia, where we call that ‘Beamer Ball.’ Buckhorn took down Athens in this one.
No. 2
The River City Rivalry always gives us great plays and this year was no different. Black Bear quarterback Qadir Lyle steps back to pass, hits his intended target, but it tips off him to the sure-handed Alvin Jones.
No. 1
Madison Academy’s quarterback steps back to pass, lobs one downfield for Cameron Childress, who hauls it in for a long touchdown. Mustangs took down Randolph in this one.
