Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes are fresh off of a loss to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in their season opener. Unfortunately, it was a clear reminder that the Buffaloes no longer have Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter leading the way.
While the loss was disappointing, the pure lack of dynamic playmaking was obvious. Colorado will miss Sanders and Hunter all season long.
Hunter, who ended up being the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars, put on a show during the 2024 college football season. His strong performance on both offense and defense led to him winning the Heisman Trophy.

Ahead of his rookie season with the Jaguars, Hunter became a father. It is one of the biggest life changes that a man can make.
Following his entrance into fatherhood, Sanders spoke out with a clear message that included some very important life advance.
As shared by FOX College Football on X, Sanders kept his message short and sweet, but it was a very impactful message as well.
“No matter what happens in life, let’s make sure we are the best darn father that ever walked,” Sanders said.
Moving forward, Sanders and Hunter may no longer be on the same team, but their relationship clearly continues. Sanders has been a big part of Hunter’s life and getting him to the place that he currently is at.
Sanders will now need to focus on getting the ship righted in Boulder. Colorado has enough talent to compete, but his coaching will need to go to the next level in order for the team to win football games consistently.

Gone are the days of the Buffaloes being a high-flying dynamic offense. Sanders will need to rebuild that with a new-look team.
As for Hunter, his NFL career is about to get underway. He’ll attempt to find success at the professional level playing both sides of the football and will have a lot of pressure to live up to being the No. 2 overall pick.
Becoming a father will present challenges in and of itself. The advice that Sanders gave was advice to live by for not just Hunter, but every father out there.
