Ninjas are heading to the streets of New York and showing up alongside golf enthusiasts. This September, SEGA is reviving one of its most beloved franchises with the launch of SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance, and one of the first places fans can play it will be at Hypegolf Clubhouse in SoHo. Starting September 6, the lower level space at 147 Grand Street opens to the public as a SEGA Gaming Lounge, giving fans three full days to experience the game hands-on.
The setup promises to blur the line between launch event and immersive gaming installation. Guests can expect shelves showcasing artwork from both the new Shinobi title and past installments, alongside game stations powered by PS5 and the Genesis Mini. Fans will also be able to play 1993’s classic Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master, experiencing firsthand the contrast between the franchise’s roots and its next era. Exclusive Anti Social Social Club merchandise from a special ASSC x Shinobi collab with limited tee designs, spanning the Shinobi franchise from its origins to today, will also be available. Additionally, SEGA will be giving away exclusive posters to mark the occasion, creating an atmosphere designed to honor Shinobi’s legacy while celebrating its future.
SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance, developed by Lizardcube and published by SEGA, is a side-scrolling action-platformer that reimagines the franchise for today’s players. Fans will once again take control of Joe Musashi—armed with katana, shuriken and mystical Ninpo—to face off against the forces of Lord Ruse. The game blends hand-drawn animation and fluid combat with modern updates like skill trees, exploratory levels and scalable difficulty. It’s a faithful return to the series’ roots while delivering the depth and polish expected from a modern release.
Blending gaming, golf and streetwear, the launch of SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance invites both longtime fans and curious newcomers to step into the shadows, channel the spirit of the Oboro Clan and witness the return of one of gaming’s most iconic ninjas. The space is intended to celebrate nearly 40 years of Shinobi — from its humble arcade beginnings through its console-era masterpieces — ushering in the first new title in almost 15 years. Come hang out at the Clubhouse to experience SEGA’s Shinobi with special product, artwork and a full gaming lounge. It’s open to the public during store hours from Saturday, September 6 to Monday, September 8.
