Robin Wright is joining a handful of celebrities, like Ellen DeGeneres, who left the U.S. for greener pastures — specifically, for the rolling hills of the U.K. countryside.

In a new profile with The Times U.K., the eight-time Emmy-nominated actress-cum-director reflected on having found a new home in the U.K., where she has been living and working for the past few years.

“America is a s—show,” she told the publication, without delving into specific remarks around politics or president Donald Trump.

Of England, she added: “I love being in this country. There’s a freedom of self here. People are so kind. They’re living. They’re not in the car in traffic, panicked on a phone call, eating a sandwich. That’s most of America. Everything’s rush, competition and speed.”

Noting the widely differing pace of life, the House of Cards alumna said she listens to birds chirping in the morning — a stark difference from the sounds at her oceanside Los Angeles home, where she would wake up to the noise of her neighbors’ home renovations.

“Everyone’s building a huge house and I’m just done with all that — I love the quiet. And I’ve met my person. Finally.” (Wright mentioned she has been dating architect Henry Smith, whom she met at a country pub.)

Though The Princess Bride actress will soon appear in Prime Video‘s psychological/erotic thriller The Girlfriend, episodes of which she is also directing, she said she is planning to take time off of work and move to the English seaside.

“It’s liberating to be done,” she said. “Be done with searching, looking and getting 60% of what you wanted.”

The Girlfriend, also co-starring Olivia Cooke, debuts all six of its episodes Sept. 10.
