Roughly a week before their season opener, the Dallas Cowboys’ roster underwent a massive change. Now that the dust has settled from their blockbuster move, one key member of the organization weighed in with his thoughts.
For the past few months, the Cowboys and Micah Parsons attempted to work out a contract extension. As things dragged out, frustration and animosity slowly started to grow. By the time training camp got underway, it was a full-blown standoff between the two sides.
Amid a public back-and-forth between Parsons and the Cowboys, it was unclear when and how this saga was going to end. Last week, the football world finally got its answer.
Despite initially saying they weren’t going to honor his trade request, Parsons finds himself on the move. The Cowboys shipped him to the Green Bay Packers in exchange for defensive lineman Kenny Clark and a pair of future first-round picks.

Dak Prescott reflects on the Micah Parsons trade
Amid the initial frenzy of reactions after the trade was first announced, numerous members of the Cowboys gave their thoughts on social media. Now that the dust has settled, quarterback Dak Prescott finally broke his silence.
While speaking with the media about the Parsons trade, the Cowboys QB admitted he wasn’t shocked to see a move like this be the end result.
“Just with the way the way the negotiations went down, obviously to some extent, I mean hell y’all were asking me questions, it seemed like it got personal on their end,” Prescott said, per ESPN.
Overall, Prescott has found silver linings for the whole situation. He is excited about what a guy like Clark can bring to Dallas and is happy to see his now-former teammate land such a lucrative contract.

“I’m not going to say we’re better. We’ve got to go out there and prove it. We had to prove it even if he was on this team, so I’m not going to say that by any means,” Prescott said. “But I know what adding a guy like Kenny Clark, adding a true leader, a real man that’s going to only elevate this team, who’s been a Pro Bowl player and is excited about being here [means]…Micah got paid. He got paid very well and great for him and his family. And we’ll see him here in about a month.”
Parsons and the Packers are slated to travel to Dallas Week 4 for a matchup on Sunday Night Football. In the meantime, Prescott and company are preparing for their showdown with the Eagles on Thursday.
