PHOENIX — For people looking for custom homes, prime entertainment options and world-class dining, Scottsdale might be your place.
The seventh-most populous city in Arizona was ranked as the seventh-most luxurious city in the U.S., in a study by TFD Tax.
While everyone’s perception of luxury is different, this tax study took an inventory of seven categories per capita to come up with its ranking system.
Scottsdale came in high in wealth affluence, luxury real estate, fine dining, entertainment and beauty and wellbeing.
It scored lower in the education and fashion categories.
Scottsdale blends resort-style living with residential ease. Areas like Paradise Valley feature custom-built homes with private theaters, yoga domes, and views that look straight out of a real estate fantasy listing. It’s one of the few places where everyday life feels like a permanent vacation.
If you’re looking for entertainment and world-class cuisine, you’ll also be in luck. The city ranks in the top 10 for upscale cuisine and has a wealth of casinos available. But if haute couture and preppy schools are your idea of luxury, you’ll have to look elsewhere. Ranking for these categories hovers around 50th for Scottsdale.
Gilbert ranked sixth in the nation in the wealth per resident category due to many citizens earning high incomes in the fields of aerospace, advanced manufacturing and healthcare.
