Tuskegee kicks off its 2025 football season on Sunday when they face Winston-Salem State Rams in Montgomery’s historic Cramton Bowl, in the 5th annual Red Tails Classic.

This matchup will be part of the annual Red Tails Classic, taking place at the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery, Alabama. The Red Tails Classic is a matchup between HBCUs every year to honor the Tuskegee Airmen who fought for the U.S. in World War II. Last season, John C. Smith took on Tuskegee University in the Red Tails Classic, in what turned out to be a 21-13 win for John C. Smith. The rest of the season didn’t get much better for Tuskegee, as the program went 5-6 last campaign, opening its 2024 year with three straight defeats before finally notching a win.
This will be the first appearance for Winston-Salem State in the Red Tails Classic, which went 7-3 in 2024 with an impressive 5-2 in conference play.
