The Phillies have dominated the first three games of this four-game series. Thursday’s opener was the most lopsided of the games as Philadelphia won 19-4. Atlanta did a better job not allowing runs in the subsequent games, losing 2-1 on Friday and 3-2 on Saturday.
Saturday’s game saw the Phillies get on the board first with a Weston Wilson solo home run in the bottom of the third, but Matt Olson’s RBI double in the sixth tied the game back up and gave the Braves some hope.
The game went into extra innings, and the Braves looked like they were going to land the upset win after Nacho Alvarez Jr. hit a go-ahead single in the top of the 10th inning, but the Phillies weren’t done, as Trea Turner drove in two runs in the bottom of the inning with a bases-loaded single.
On Sunday, the Braves are expected to send Hurston Waldrep to the mound. He is 4-0 on the season with a 0.90 ERA. The Phillies will counter with Jesus Luzardo, who is 12-6 with a 4.23 ERA.
