Charlie Woods entered this week’s Junior Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass with a growing resume. The 16-year-old son of Tiger Woods had already made headlines earlier this year with a win at the AJGA Team TaylorMade Invitational and a top-10 finish at the Junior PGA.
But on Sunday, he added another unforgettable moment to his young career with stunning a hole-in-one, this time on one of golf’s most iconic stages.
Charlie’s ace came during the third and final round of the Junior Players, at TPC Sawgrass, the same venue where Tiger Woods won his first of three U.S. Amateur titles back in 1994.
After opening the tournament with rounds of 76 and 75, the 16-year-old began Sunday’s round on the back nine. He was even par through 11 holes when he stepped onto the par-3 third hole, playing 177 yards.
One swing later, the ball found the bottom of the cup.
The American Junior Golf Association confirmed the achievement on X typing, “HOLE-IN-ONE! Charlie Woods adds his name to the #JrPLAYERS history books with an ace on No. 3.”
The ace moved Woods to 2-under for the round. He finished the tournament at 7-over, placing him tied for 38th on the leaderboard.

The winner of the tournament was Miles Russell, the top-ranked junior in the world, who carded a six-under 66 to sit 14 shots ahead of Woods.
This wasn’t Charlie’s first brush with perfection. His first career ace came in December last year at the PNC Championship, where he was paired with Big Cat.
Woods, who was visibly emotional after the shot, later called it “the thrill of a lifetime,” as quoted by the PGA Tour.
Tiger made his first hole-in-one at age 6 at Heartwell Golf Course in Long Beach, Calif. Since then, the 15-time major winner has recorded 20 competitive aces, including three on the PGA Tour.
With two aces now to his name, son Charlie is inching closer to his father’s legendary record. Though he still has a long way to go, this season is an indication he’s on the right path.
