DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) — A wanted Huntsville man has been arrested after leading authorities on a police chase through multiple jurisdictions on Thursday night.
On Thursday around 9 p.m., the Priceville Police Department received a notification that the Decatur Police Department was involved in a vehicle pursuit heading southbound on Highway 67 as it entered Priceville.
Priceville Police learned that the driver was wanted by Decatur Police in connection with a shooting involving an occupied vehicle.
Priceville Police joined the chase once the vehicle entered Priceville City Limits. According to authorities, the chase continued along I-65 NB and then to I-565 EB through Madison and into Huntsville.
Priceville Police told News 19 that throughout the chase, the suspect’s vehicle was driving recklessly, swerving toward other vehicles and abruptly braking in front of police officers.
Authorities said that the chase continued east on I-565 and then north on Research Park Boulevard, where the suspect’s vehicle collided with two occupied civilian vehicles at the intersection of Plummer Road and Jordan Lane. No injuries were reported during the crash.
Following the incident, Officers with the Priceville Police Department executed a tactical vehicle intervention which brought the chase to an end. Authorities identified the suspect as Bryan Crisanto Hernandez, 22, of Huntsville.
Hernandez was forcibly removed from the vehicle and taken into custody. PPD said that a firearm was also recovered from the scene.
Hernandez was transported by Priceville Police to Decatur-Morgan Hospital for medical evaluation before being booked into the Morgan County Jail.
He was charged with attempting to elude law enforcement, reckless endangerment, improper lane usage, failure to signal, and resisting arrest. He was granted a $26,000 bond and has a hold in place for the Decatur Police Department.
