RM Sotheby’s is set to auction one of the most unique modern Porsches ever built: the 2024 Porsche 718 Spyder RS Panamericana Special, a one-of-one creation from Porsche’s Sonderwunsch program. Commissioned by Porsche Mexico, the special edition pays tribute to the brand’s history in La Carrera Panamericana while marking the final chapter of the 718 generation with an internal combustion engine.
Finished in Paint to Sample Centenaire Silver, the car features 20-inch forged magnesium wheels adorned with TAG Heuer crests, Signal Yellow racing roundels with the number 55 and bespoke details celebrating Hans Herrmann’s class-winning 1954 Carrera Panamericana run. Inside, Carmine Red stitching, a Panamericana logo on the headrests and illuminated Mexican flag–themed door sills highlight the car’s cultural and historic significance. Adding to its exclusivity, the car carries Herrmann’s personal autograph.
The 718 Spyder RS Panamericana Special is equipped with the Weissach package, PCCB brakes, bucket seats, BOSE Surround Sound and the Chrono package, blending cutting-edge performance with artisanal craftsmanship. Offered in virtually new condition and built to Mexican specifications, the car has only delivery mileage. With a portion of proceeds benefitting TECHO, Make-A-Wish and World Vision, the sale represents a rare collector’s opportunity, as well as a chance to support a charitable cause. For enthusiasts, it is both a farewell to the combustion-powered 718 and a rolling tribute to Porsche’s Panamericana legacy. Bidding for the 718 Panamericana, valued at $560,000 USD, is open now via RM Sotheby’s Sealed platform.
