The card for this Sunday’s WWE Clash in Paris premium live event could be getting another high-profile match. A new report suggests that the company has discussed adding a singles bout between Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre to the lineup.

The potential addition would be the sixth match on the card for WWE’s first-ever PLE from Paris. On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that while the match is not yet confirmed, it has been a topic of discussion.

The Next Chapter in a Renewed WWE Rivalry

Meltzer stated that there is a “solid chance” the match will be added to the show. He also noted that if the match doesn’t happen this Sunday, it will still take place in the near future, as it is a planned step in the larger storyline for Drew McIntyre.

“They’re going to do the Orton match before they do the Cody match,” Meltzer said, referring to the long-term plan for McIntyre to eventually challenge the Undisputed WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes.

More news: WWE Superstar Announces Retirement Match

A one-on-one match between Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre would be the next chapter in a rivalry that was reignited at the SummerSlam premium live event earlier this month. The two were on opposite sides of a celebrity tag team match, which saw McIntyre and Logan Paul defeat Orton and the musician Jelly Roll.

The feud has continued on Raw, with Orton hitting McIntyre with a surprise RKO during a backstage segment on last week’s episode. The two have a long and storied history, including a memorable feud over the WWE Championship in 2020.

The WWE Clash In Paris Card

With just three days until the event, which will stream live on Peacock and Netflix, the currently confirmed card for Clash in Paris is:

  • World Heavyweight Championship – Fatal 4-Way: Seth Rollins (c) vs. CM Punk vs. LA Knight vs. Jey Uso
  • John Cena vs. Logan Paul
  • Roman Reigns vs. Bronson Reed
  • Women’s Intercontinental Championship: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Nikki Bella
  • Good Ol’ Fashioned Donnybrook Match: Sheamus vs. Rusev
