Only Paris Hilton would accidentally start a trend.
Speaking with Us Weekly, the internet sensation reflected on a not-so-great haircut she got in the early 2000s, which, much to her surprise, became a popular beauty look.
“I was not paying attention, just like on my phone and then I looked up and I had like long hair all the way down to my waist at this point, and I looked up and he had cut my hair all the way to my ears,” Hilton recalled.
“I was so in shock and I looked in the mirror and I didn’t know what to say. He’s like ‘Do you like it?’ And I went to the bathroom and called my sister crying,” the businesswoman added.
However, instead of trying to hide the drastic, chin-length haircut from the public, she embraced it on the red carpet.
Others soon took a liking to the cropped look, making it a popular hairstyle in the early aughts.
“I got extensions to make it like a cute bob, and I liked it, but that was yeah, that was not done purposely,” she told the outlet.
“Then it became a trend, and everyone started cutting their hair. So, I was like, ‘OK.’”
Now, Hilton is known for her long blond tresses and has even been named a global ambassador for Paul Mitchell.
Luckily for fans, she was more than happy to share some beauty tips with the publication.
“My advice would be to always make sure to deep condition your hair, especially now I work basically almost every single day, so I’m constantly getting my hair styled all the time,” she said. “So, it’s really important to use amazing products.”
Healthy hair? Now that’s hot.
