PHOENIX — Nordstrom Inc. announced on Thursday that it will be opening a Nordstrom Rack in Goodyear.
The store is expected to open in spring 2027 at the city’s GSQ development, which broke ground on construction in April 2024.
“We’re proud to welcome Nordstrom Rack to downtown Goodyear, which residents have long asked for, as the newest addition to our thriving retail community,” Goodyear Mayor Joe Pizzillo said in the city’s announcement. “Their arrival brings not only a great option for shopping but also new jobs and a positive impact to our local economy. I am excited for residents and visitors alike to enjoy everything this new location will offer.”
The city noted that the retailer was at the top of its wish list after conducting resident surveys in 2017.

The store will be 25,000 square feet and offer online order pick up for shoppers.
“We look forward to being part of the Goodyear community and serving our customers with an amazing offering of great brands at great prices,” Nordstrom Rack President Gemma Lionello said in the company’s announcement.
Trader Joe’s, Black Rock Coffee Bar and Firebirds Wood Fired Grill will accompany the retailer at the 150-acre mixed-used development, which is owned and managed by RED Development and Globe Corporation.
“From the beginning, our goal has been to give Goodyear residents the shopping and dining options they’ve long asked for, and this announcement shows we’re delivering on that vision,” RED Development Managing Partner Mike Ebert said. “GSQ is quickly emerging as the city’s premier entertainment and shopping district, and the addition of national retailers underscores its position as a priority destination for future growth.”
There is currently one Nordstrom store and 11 Nordstrom Racks in Arizona that have generated more than 1,000 jobs around the state.
