DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) — Guidelines have been released ahead of the football game between Decatur High School and Austin High School on Friday.

The following procedures will be in place for all attendees at the matchup:

  • Elementary and middle school students should have an adult enter and remain with them during the entire football game. Students are to remain seated and not loiter in the stands or around the stadium.
  • Any student/fan that creates a disruption may be removed from the stadium and denied entry to other DCS athletic events in the future.
  • Entry to the stadium should be made on the side where fans would like to sit. Decatur fans should enter on the home side, while Austin fans should park at the high school and enter through the Somerville Road entrance. Crossing over to the opposing side of the stadium before, during, or after the game will not be allowed.
  • There will be no re-entry into the stadium if you exit prior to the conclusion of the game.
  • Loitering after the game will not be allowed.
  • Many security measures will be in place, including, clear bags being required for entry. Exceptions will be made for diaper and medical bags but they are subject to inspection. Additional measures may include, but are not limited to, the operation of our weapons detection system, drones, and K9’s

According to Decatur City Schools, bags must be transparent with all items visible. Clear bags can be no larger than 12″ x 12″x 6″. Small bags, non-clear bags can’t be larger than 4.5″ x 6.5″.

Fans must also remember the following regarding bags:

  • Bags must be clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC
  • One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag or smaller
  • Medical bags containing health necessary items and diaper bags are acceptable after proper inspection and approval from stadium security

All other bags are prohibited when entering the stadium.
