On Thursday, the Dallas Cowboys ended the Micah Parsons contract standoff by trading the star pass rusher to the Green Bay Packers. As a result, this spells bad news for the other teams in the NFC North.

The Athletic reports that the Cowboys will receive defensive tackle Kenny Clark and two first-round picks from the Packers. Green Bay will need to get through their division first, and while they don’t face the Chicago Bears until December, one insider has a warning for Ben Johnson and his team.

During an appearance on ESPN 1000’s “Waddle & Silvy,” ESPN Bears insider Courtney Cronin stated that Chicago need to figure out a key situation on their offensive line soon because she believes teams, like the Packers with Parsons, will be testing that weakness.

“You’d like to think they’re going to have their left tackle situation figured out by then,” Cronin said. “I know Braxton Jones—he’s going to be the starter Week 1. There’s no doubt in my mind, given all the reps he’s had with the first-team offense in games and obviously in practices the last couple of weeks, that’s how it settled.

“But I don’t know, with Braxton Jones, how that’s going to work if he’s still the left tackle at that point. And obviously, that’s months away. That’s a future Bears problem. But when you prognosticate this, you’ve got Aidan Hutchinson in Week 2.

“Week 1, you’ve got Jonathan Greenard. But the NFC North does not get any easier the more weeks you go on, because you’ve got elite pass rushers that are going to be targeting your weakest link every single time.”

If Chicago needed to cut back on the 68 total sacks they gave up before the Packers traded for Parsons, it’s now even more of a pressing issue that the Bears need to fix with so many top pass rushers that the team must face twice this season.
