Overnight, the rumors surrounding the Green Bay Packers potentially trading for Micah Parsons reached an all-time high. After former Packers star and current sideline analyst John Kuhn made a social media post about Parsons, fans went crazy.
Unfortunately, that tweet might have been nothing more than engagement farming.
In his post on Tuesday night, Kuhn stated three simple words. Fans clearly had every reason to think that he knew something about the trade talks.
“Micah Freaking Parsons,” Kuhn wrote in his post.
On Wednesday morning, fans received a brutal update regarding the rumors. That update came from Matt Schneidman of The Athletic.

Schneidman shared what appears to be a text message thread between himself and Kuhn.
“1.4 million views on a troll tweet,” Schneidman said. “You should be ashamed of yourself.”
Kuhn’s response is something that won’t make Green Bay fans like him very much.
“I tweeted like 10 times this year, I need a catch up,” he wrote. “I have said many times I am not in the news breaking business.”
This update should pump the brakes aggressively on the trade rumors connecting Parsons to the Packers. It could still happen, but the trade would be confusing regardless.
Jerry Jones sending a player like Parsons to Green Bay would be a shocking move. The Dallas Cowboys not working out a new deal to get the superstar pass rusher in town would be even more surprising, although there is damage to the relationship.
While this does not mean that the Packers will not acquire Parsons, it certainly puts a damper on the hype and excitement that had been swirling in Green Bay.

It will be interesting to see what the future has in store for Parsons. He wants a new contract and he has very publicly requested a trade from the Cowboys. Can the two sides actually work out a new contract extension?
Should they be unable to get a deal done, would Jones actually consider trading Parsons within the division? Might the Packers actually have a chance at landing him?
Those questions will remain unanswered. Despite the update from Schneidman, the hope in Green Bay will likely continue about Brian Gutekunst potentially pulling off arguably the biggest blockbuster trade in team history to bring Parsons onboard.
