Dallas Cowboys edge-rusher Micah Parsons’ name has been floated in several trade rumors, and he’s been linked to many different teams over the last several weeks.
But he keeps getting linked to one team more than any other: the Green Bay Packers.
Social media influencers refuse to let the Parsons-to-Green Bay rumors die, and former Packers Pro Bowler John Kuhn fanned the flames of that fire late Tuesday night when he posted “Micah Freaking Parsons” — sending X users into a frenzy thinking the current Packers sideline reporter knew something they didn’t.

Though it was suggested Kuhn was just trolling fans given how the Parsons-Packers trade speculation has seemingly taken on a life of its own, Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio suggested that while it mostly seems like conjecture, there does seem to be some truth to the rumors that Green Bay is in on Parsons.
“Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the Packers are ‘interested.’ However, the interest is ‘nowhere near the smoke that’s out there,’” Florio wrote.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has maintained that he has no plans to trade Parsons, but Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst seemed to admit, without saying Parsons’ name, that Green Bay is very interested in acquiring the four-time Pro Bowl pass-rusher.
“I can’t talk about any players on any other teams, but I think every opportunity that’s out there, if they can help the Packers, we’re going to take a long look at,” Gutekunst told reporters, via PackersNews.com. “If that opportunity makes sense to us, we’ll do it. If it doesn’t, then we won’t.”

If the Packers were to acquire Parsons, who totaled 70 pressures, 44 hurries, 12 QB hits, 12 sacks, and two forced fumbles in just 13 games last season, per Pro Football Focus, it would be a monster win for a defensive unit that ranked eighth in the NFL in sacks (45) in 2024.
Parsons’ presence would also take a lot of the pressure off Green Bay’s current edge-rushers Rashan Gary (47 pressures, 7.5 sacks), Kingsley Enagbare (25 pressures, 4.5 sacks), Brenton Cox Jr. (17 pressures, four sacks), and Lukas Van Ness (20 pressures, three sacks).
Though the Cowboys are unlikely to trade Parsons, the Packers seem like the best bet if a team were to pry him away from Dallas.
