Clemson Tigers quarterback Cade Klubnik is entering his third season as the starter under head coach Dabo Swinney. Moreover, Klubnik, now in his senior year, will be watched closely by NFL scouts and draft analysts.
Over his college career with Clemson, Klubnik has completed 63.4 percent of his passes while recording 7,180 passing yards, 57 touchdowns, and 18 interceptions. This production has led to an interesting take from ESPN’s Field Yates.
During an appearance on “Get Up,” Yates was asked who he sees as the most solidified quarterback in the country and didn’t hesitate to pick Klubnik.
“We have now seen [Klubnik] start for two seasons,” Yates said. “He’s played in 38 career games for Clemson. He’s got over a thousand career passing attempts. He had a remarkable year last year. He had 43 total touchdowns.

“He is already in the top five for most major passing categories at Clemson. He completed just under 64 percent of his passes last year, but I see a more accurate thrower than that number would suggest.
Along with the production that Klubnik has recorded during his college career, Yates noted attributes that don’t show up on the stat sheet.
“On top of that, this guy is the real deal athletically,” Yates added. “Klubnik rushed for nearly 500 yards last season. Keep in mind, for those that don’t know this, in college football, quarterbacks get negative yards for sacks taken in terms of rushing total. So that number could have been well close to 600 yards rushing last season.

“For Cade Klubnik, very good leader, very good processor as well. They’ve got a big test this upcoming weekend against LSU, but I expect them to handle business in a top 10 matchup that should kick off to a potentially very, very strong season for a loaded Clemson roster.”
Klubnik has a lot riding this season as Clemson are a national title contender. Nonetheless, a great campaign for the Tigers could lead to him improving his NFL draft stock and solidifying himself as a first-round pick for any team needing a signal-caller.
