EXCLUSIVE: Banijay Rights’ Mr Bean: The Animated Series FAST channel has expanded in North America. The network will launch on Samsung TV Plus in the U.S. and Canada.

Rolling out on Wednesday (August 27), it will comprise of all four seasons of the Tiger Aspect Productions show, which was originally for ITV in the UK and is based on the classic sitcom starring Rowan Atkinson.

Mr Bean channels are already in the U.S., with Mr Bean Animated and Mr Bean Live Action FAST nets syndicated in 37 territories and on 12 platforms overall.

“Since launching in 2024, Mr Bean has been nothing short of a phenomenon in the FAST space,” said Shaun Keeble, VP Digital, Banijay Rights. “Taking Bean to Samsung TV Plus in the US and Canada further speaks to the enduring all-ages appeal of this iconic character and the brand’s ability to reach new audiences across all platforms.”

Bean has more than 148 million followers on Facebook, which Banijay says makes it the biggest film or TV brand on the social media site. It also has 75 million subscribers on YouTube across its main network alone taking 35 million, and its Instagram account as 10 million followers, along with another 11.5 million on TikTok.

The animated series follows the antics of Mr Bean and his toy friend Teddy, as they embark on adventures while struggling to go about daily life. A fourth season debuted earlier this year on Boomerang and ITVX in the UK, and globally on Warner Bros Discovery’s channels through deals brokered by Banijay Rights. ITV2 began airing it on linear on August 2.

Tiger Aspect Kids & Family, which is part of Banijay Kids & Family, is the producer and Tom Beattie and Atkinson, who also provides the voice, are the exec producers. Atkinson co-created the Mr Bean character with Love Actually and Notting Hill director Richard Curtis 35 years ago.

“Mr Bean is a true comedy legend who continues to be cherished by families across the world,” said Beattie. “Expanding this wonderful animated series in the US and Canadian FAST realm is testament to Bean’s universal appeal and we’re excited his antics will be enjoyed by a whole new viewership on Samsung TV Plus.”
