A dog’s reaction to torrential rain has melted hearts across the internet.
Tristan Guenther (@burrowthegolden), 28, who recently moved from Boston to Chicago, shared a video of her 3-year-old golden retriever, Burrow, having the time of his life while walking through heavy showers, sporting what looks like a grin. The clip has since racked up 1.1 million likes and 3.5 million views.
“Burrow and I took off running through the rain and he acted like it was the best moment of his life. He was clearly living his main character moment,” Guenther told Newsweek.
Guenther recalled that she and Burrow had been out playing fetch at the park when the sky suddenly turned dark. She said she enjoys thunderstorms and the dramatic skies that come before them, but within moments the heavens opened.
Guenther described her four-legged comanion as “the definition of goofy, social, and dramatic.”
She said Burrow thrives on being the center of attention. “We can’t leave the house without a million people wanting to say hi to him and he LOVES it,” she explained.
Far from being put out by the downpour, Guenther said she found herself laughing at the sight of her dog bounding through the storm.
“One of my favorite things is to watch Burrow run because he’s so floppy and goofy. Watching him run with pure joy in the pouring rain made me laugh—it makes it impossible to be annoyed at the weather,” she said.
Burrow isn’t new to internet stardom. According to Guenther, her golden retriever already has community on TikTok and has gone viral several times for his dramatic and silly antics.
“He is truly the most loving dog and has a special way of turning every moment into something smile-worthy,” she said.
Viewers on TikTok were quick to share their delight.

“The sweet angel is so excited to be stuck in the rain with just you,” wrote a third.
