Name: adidas Originals Japan Hi Brain Dead; adidas Originals Japan Lo Brain Dead
Colorway: Black/Green; White/Green; Black/Blue; Shadow Brown
Release Date: August 28
Where to Buy: adidas Originals; Brain Dead

adidas Originals x Brain Dead are getting the gang back together. After images of the collaborative Brain Dead x adidas Japan Lo silhouette recently surfaced, the seasoned duo has lifted the veil on the full Japan Flames collection, which comes complete with three collab footwear offerings that lean into the iconography of wrestling and are showcased in a striking new lookbook.

With collaborative tennis and bowling shoes under their collaborative belt – the Brain Dead x adidas Originals Stan Smiths, the Brain Dead x adidas Originals Forest Hills, and even a Dover Street Market exclusive of an archival bowling shoe – the foray into wrestling is a natural one for the sports-centric unit. Brain Dead even launched its very own professional wrestling promotion, dubbed Brain Slam Wrestling, back in 2022.

Building on a solid groundwork, the duo has delivered on both the Brain Dead x adidas Originals Japan Hi and the Brain Dead x adidas Originals Japan Lo. The low-top silhouette lands in two colorways (brown with yellow details and green accents, and black with blue details and off-white accents) and comes equipped with a leather upper complete with two-toned suede flame overlays and leather contrast stripes. Furry laces and co-branded sockliners round out the silhouette.

As for the high-top, it emulates the look of a wrestling boot. Arriving in just one colorway of all-black with off-white details and pine green accenting, the boots feature the same flame-like design.

Peep the full Japan Flames collection in the gallery above and expect the range to land live for purchase via both brands’ webstores on August 28.
