The Pittsburgh Steelers may have swung a trade for D.K. Metcalf earlier this offseason, but after also moving George Pickens, they definitely need some help at wide receiver. Could the Las Vegas Raiders have the answer for them?

Raiders wide receiver Jakobi Meyers requested a trade on Monday, which could open the door for the Steelers to make a move for the 28-year-old.

In fact, Dianna Russini of The Athletic has already floated Pittsburgh as a potential landing spot for Meyers, who is entering the final year of his contract and is evidently not thrilled about the way negotiations have proceeded.

Meyers would represent a fantastic addition for a Steelers squad that brought in Aaron Rodgers to man the quarterback position earlier this offseason. Outside of Metcalf, Pittsburgh lacks genuine proven talent at wide out, with Calvin Austin III and Roman Wilson comprising Rodgers’ top ancillary options.

Meanwhile, Meyers caught 87 passes for 1,027 yards and four touchdowns last year and would instantly step into the No. 2 receiver role behind Metcalf in Steel City.

Of course, the question is whether or not the Steelers would be willing to pay the cost it would require to pry Meyers away from the Raiders.

Las Vegas doesn’t seem eager to move Meyers, which isn’t surprising given the fact that the Raiders’ situation at wide receiver is arguably even worse than Pittsburgh’s once you get past Meyers.

Taking that into consideration, the Steelers would probably have to overpay for the North Carolina State product, and they would also have to worry about signing him to a long-term extension, as well. Remember: they just handed Metcalf a five-year, $150 million deal, so Pittsburgh would probably be hesitant to strike a lucrative multi-year pact with Meyers.

Still, given how the Steelers are obviously going for a Super Bowl this year, the prospect of adding Meyers may be tempting for them, even if it means they would only have him for one season.
