The Maroons ascended back to France’s top tier in the summer after winning their play-off match to return after just a single season. However, the comeback hasn’t gone to plan thus far following a 1-0 loss at home to Strasbourg in the opening week.
Lyon is unbeaten in its last three meetings with Metz but was held to a draw the last time they faced off at the Groupama Stadium, setting some alarm bells ringing for Paulo Fonseca’s men.
